FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How much does Salat on Time cost?
Salat on Time comes with a free 3-day trial so you can explore all features. After the trial, it's just $2.99/month to keep your prayer journey going.
How does app blocking work?
Salat on Time uses Apple's Screen Time API to block apps you choose (like Instagram, TikTok, or X) when prayer time arrives. You set a grace period (5–30 minutes after the adhan), and if you haven't prayed by then, your selected apps are blocked until you complete your prayer.
How does the app know I've prayed?
You can verify your prayer in two ways: using your Apple Watch (which detects prayer postures via motion sensors) or a timer with manual confirmation. Each method ensures honest, respectful verification.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Salat on Time is 100% offline-first. All your data stays on your device — no accounts, no servers, no tracking. Just you and your prayer.
Which prayer time calculation methods are supported?
The app supports 14+ methods including Muslim World League, Umm Al-Qura (Mecca), Egyptian General Authority, ISNA, University of Karachi, and more. You can also choose between Standard (Shafi'i/Maliki/Hanbali) and Hanafi Asr calculation.
What happens when I'm traveling or sick?
You can activate a travel or illness exemption in settings. App blocking and notifications pause, your streak is preserved, and prayers are tracked with an exemption label. You can set an end date or deactivate manually.
What are streaks and badges?
Streaks track your consecutive days of punctual prayer. Badges are achievements you unlock — like "Fajr Warrior" for 7 consecutive on-time Fajr prayers, or "Perfect Month" for 30 days of all prayers on time. There are 20+ badges across Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary rarities.
Does the app work without an internet connection?
Yes. Prayer times are cached locally so the app works fully offline. An internet connection is only needed occasionally to refresh prayer time data when your location changes.
Is the app available on Android?
Not yet. Salat on Time is currently available on iOS only. Android support is something we're exploring for the future, in sha Allah.
